Speedweek for Motormarques

The Geelong Speed Trials for 2016 were held on Richie Boulevard, bordering Corio Bay, Where the event has been held for 50 years from 1956 until 2016.

Each year the event has attracted a collection of rare and historic competition vehicles to race against the clock over the quarter mile sprint.

It has always included an impressive display of unique, rare. and sometimes priceless automobiles and motor cycles from all aspects and all eras of motor sport.

Geelong's Speedweek trials was one of the rare occasions in Australia where you could see such an array of awe inspiring vehicles in action, hear and smell their engines at full chat while experiencing the time-honoured but carnival atmosphere of classic sprinting.

33rd Historic Winton - Morgan

Written by

2009 Historic Winton is on the lookout for any early Morgans (especially 3 wheelers), Triumph Heralds and pre-War Bentleys - to be set up in a special display area within the Shannons Classic Car Park and invited to join in our Sunday 31 May Parade laps.    We are also seeking any old race cars that may have competed in the local North-East area during the 1950s / 1960s  - there must be some of  them still stuck away in local sheds and garages - condition is not that important - as long as they are moveable and could go on static display.  Complimentary entry tickets provided to owners of suitable vehicles.  Enquiries:  Noel Wilcox ph 03 5428 2689 (a/hrs)  email   This email address is being protected from spambots.
