Speedweek for Motormarques

The Geelong Speed Trials for 2016 were held on Richie Boulevard, bordering Corio Bay, Where the event has been held  from 1956 until 2016.

Each year the event has attracted a collection of rare and historic competition vehicles to race against the clock over the quarter mile course.

It has always included an impressive display of unique, rare. and sometimes priceless automobiles and motor cycles from all aspects and all eras of motor sport.

Geelong's Speedweek trials event was one of the rare occasions in Australia where you could see and hear such an array of awe-inspiring vehicles in action, hear and smell their engines at full chat while experiencing the time-honoured, but carnival atmosphere of classic sprinting.

Motormarques' friend, Nick Koleszar sends this information on the Bill Redpathcar -

Was scratching my head for a while. The two-bolt rocker covers had me thinking it was Ford Y-block but I couldn't figure out why it had a plug at the front of the head there. I think it's a Lancia gearbox. I love those fabulous gigantic drums. Some info here: http://www.vhrr.com/forum/showthread.php?p=501"
