Ply panels are glued to upper and lower tail. Chummy guards
are loosely attached to check appearance and the windscreen
centre post has been cast and placed to check
|
Windscreen pieces are formed ready for welding. Louvres are
yet to be punched into bonnet sides
|

Linen canvas is glue-sized to the wooden body tub
|
The body is painted
|
|
|
|
A final assembly of chassis and running gear is completed
in readiness for fitting the body
|

Compare the photo of the recent photo of the restoration to the
old original shown in the photo above, left

|
The car has been re-wired. Wiring saddles are made from
piano keys. The petrol guage behind the coil) is a reproduction made
from an old EPNS cup and a modern plastic gasket material ….
It’s almost convincing.

Front guards have been fabricated from those of a ‘Chummy’.
Valances removed and the rake of rear section altered by fitting
a newly formed, wired edge piece. Plastic repro. rear guards
used only to complete general ‘look/feel’.

A not very good ‘Chummy’ guard is given new life after its inside
valance is cut away and replaced with a wired edge piece, thus
becoming a light sports guard (rear)
