 The Bristol Aeroplane Company started making cars in 1947, using the pre-war BMW as its base.
The 401 shown in these pictures is powered by the famous 6 cylinder 1971cc engine that powered Cooper racing cars, Frazer Nash, some Lotus, some AC, Kieft, Arnolt and others. The model shown here is owned by Bill Franzke of Melbourne, Australia. Below: 1951 Bristol 403 - 6 cyl 1971cc
