Donington Grand Prix Collection stars at launch of new Shell V-Power

One of the most famous cars from the Donington Grand Prix Collection appeared in an on-street display outside the Shell Centre near the London Eye this week, during the launch of Shell’s new V-Power performance unleaded fuel.

The ex-Alberto Ascari 1952 Ferrari 500 was the number one car in the display when it was driven at speed by Rob Hall in a show which also included Ferrari Formula One driver Felipe Massa at the wheel of a 2006 Ferrari Grand Prix car, en route to the Turkish Grand Prix. Tiff Needell provided live commentary to the event.

Thousands of spectators lined the streets to witness the spectacle, which also included stunt drivers and the Ducati MotoGP team.

The Collection’s Kevin Wheatcroft said, “This demonstrates once again the historical significance of the cars in the Donington Collection and the important contribution they can make to commercial events such as this. We were very happy to play our part in the success of this major Shell launch”.
